I am writing this affirmation/prayer for those who have felt forsaken or betrayed by family, friends and others closest to them and at times feel alone. Sometimes it can feel like God is distant but he is always with us. We are never alone.
I am a Child of God
I have been given a spirit of adoption and I am a child of the Most High, to whom I cry “Abba!”, the creator of the heavens and the earth, who predestined me for adoption in and through his son Jesus Christ. Though my mother and father may forsake me the Lord will never forsake me. He is always with me. I was intricately woven by him in the depths of the earth and I am fearfully and wonderfully made. He is mindful of me and his thoughts toward me are more numerous than the sand. When I sleep he watches over me and when I awake he is with me. He is my rock, my strength, my fortress and my deliverer. He is my inheritance and my all in all.
